PT  Geo  Labora  Indonesia  provides  comprehensive  mine  geotechnical  assessment services to support mining operations that are safe, efficient, and fully compliant with regulatory standards.  All  activities  are  carried  out  in  accordance  with  the  Ministry  of  Energy  and  Mineral Resources Decree No. 1827 K/30/MEM/2018, particularly the appendices related to Geotechnical Engineering Standards for Mining, as well as international standards such as ISRM, ASTM, BS, and GSI.

Our  geotechnical  assessments  cover  all  stages  of  mining—from  exploration,  slope design,  and  monitoring,  to  long-term  risk  evaluation—ensuring  that  every  mining  activity  is supported by strong technical foundations and meets both scientific and regulatory requirements

The services provided by PT Geo Labora Indonesia include the following:

1. Surface Investigation

Surface  investigation  is  conducted  to  obtain  initial  geotechnical  and  geological information related to site stability. The scope includes:

  • Identifying areas with potential slope failure.
  • Detecting groundwater seepage around the pit area.
  • Determining the orientation and structural direction of the ore body.
  • Measuring actual slope geometry of pit and waste disposal areas.
  • Identifying rock mass characteristics.

2. Subsurface Investigation

Subsurface  investigation  provides  a  more  detailed  understanding  of  geological  and geotechnical conditions below the surface. The scope includes:

  • Performing geotechnical drilling.
  • Identifying geological materials and lithology within the mining area.
  • Securing disturbed and undisturbed samples for laboratory testing.

3. Laboratory Testing

Laboratory testing is conducted to evaluate the physical and mechanical properties of rock and soil materials. The scope includes:

  • Physical property testing of rock.
  • Mechanical property testing of rock.
  • Physical property testing of soil.
  • Mechanical property testing of soil.

4. Slope Stability Analysis

Slope stability analysis ensures that mining slopes perform safely throughout operations. The scope includes:

  • Identifying and characterizing rock and soil masses.
  • Analyzing rock and soil slope geometry.
  • Conducting stability analysis using:
  • Limit Equilibrium Method (LEM)
  • Numerical Modeling (FDM/FEM)
  • Determining the Factor of Safety (FoS) and providing engineering design recommendations.
  • Evaluating potential slope failures and geotechnical.

5. Mine Geotechnical Design

Mine geotechnical design supports the optimization of pit development and overall stability. The scope includes:

  • Determining geotechnical parameters based on laboratory and field data.
  • Establishing optimal slope geometry, including bench height, berm width, and slope angle.
  • Conducting bench-scale and overall slope analyses.

6. Waste Dump and Disposal Slope Stability Analysis

This analysis ensures the safe design and operation of waste disposal facilities. The scope includes:

  • Analyzing the properties of waste material.
  • Conducting stability modeling using LEM and FEM techniques.
  • Providing recommendations for reinforcement and safe dump height limits.
